The following discipline plan is what I use in our Physics class. You will notice that there are not many rules, because having too many would make it difficult to follow my plan. However, you should take note that I enforce these rules rigidly. These were created so that the environment in the classroom is always conducive to learning. Disruptions of any type take away from that, and I am simply trying to minimize these sorts of behaviors. Discipline Plan for Mr. Edwards' Classroom. 1. Stay on task. 2. Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings. 3. Bring all books and materials to class. 4. Respect others in your thoughts, speech, and actions.
Severe Disruption (fighting, blatant defiance, abusive language or gesture directed toward Mr. Edwards or other student, foul language, etc.) - You will be sent to your principal’s office immediately. Teacher detentions are to be served on the following afternoon after school in room 237. Principal detentions are to be served on the assigned Monday or Wednesday in the cafeteria. Detentions will not be scheduled at a time convenient to you. No exceptions! If you are assigned a detention, you will be notified the day before it is to be served. If you choose to skip a detention, you will be referred to your grade level office. STUDENTS: I have read this classroom discipline plan and understand it. I will honor these rules in my daily life.
